The objecve of the monitoring and evaluaon (M&E) baseline survey is to collect data relevant to the key business regulaons for suppliers (producers, importers, wholesalers and retailers) of different inputs (poultry drugs, vaccines, animal feed and DOCs) to poultry producers.
The survey involved two main acvies:
- Acvity 1: Qualitave research: involved desk review of laws and regulaons and relevant exisng research as well as conduct of in-depth interviews (IDIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs). The FGDs were conducted with businesses in Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Kaduna, Kano Lagos, and Oyo States
- · Acvity 2: Quantave survey of the input suppliers: involved collecon of data from input suppliers (producers, importers, wholesalers and retailers) of different inputs (poultry drugs and vaccines, animal feed and DOCs) in Kaduna, Kano Lagos, and Oyo States.
A total of 12 FGD sessions of 7-10 parcipants each in the 6 States and 14 IDIs with regulatory agencies were conducted. A total of 200 poultry input suppliers were interviewed in the four States of Kaduna, Kano, Lagos and Oyo
