Our firm was engaged by the Anambra & Gombe State Malaria Booster Projects (MCBP) to coordinate the field data collection of endline data on households, communities, public health facilities (PHF), patent medicine vendors (PMV) and community directed distributor (CDD) in the 21 LGAs of Anambra State and 11 LGAs in Gombe State for an experimental impact evaluation study.
The survey instrument comprised 6 modules questionnaire (Household, health facility, health facility worker, community, PMV and CDD). The sample size consisted of 386 health facilities, 386 health facility workers, 386 communities, 772 PMVs, 965 CDDs and 5,790 households. The main objective of the survey was to provide data on Community Directed Interventions (CDI) and PMV interventions, which constitute the Community Systems Strengthening (CSS) component of the MCBP. Data collection was carried electronically (CAPI) with the use of the Google Nexus 7 tablets. Subsequent data analyses and reporting was the responsibility of the World Bank.
