Quality of Service Assessment and Resource Tracking (QSA-RT) Studies

The QSA-RT survey (2013) aimed at providing robust evidence on quality of health services and resource flows in the health sector in selected states in Nigeria with the specific objectives of: (a) providing information on quality of health services over time; (b) tracking resource flows from the state government through line ministries to the service delivery units; and (c) disseminating the data and creating high levels of public awareness.

To meet these objectives, the World Bank in conjunction with Hanovia Limited supported facility-based surveys in 12 states in the health sector. The selected states were: Anambra and Imo (South East geopolitical zone, SEZ), Bauchi and Taraba (NEZ), Cross River and Bayelsa (SSZ), Ekiti and Osun (SWZ), Kebbi and Kaduna (NWZ) and Niger and Kogi (NCZ). This process was strongly guided by the Federal Government of Nigeria, with close coordination with the State Governments and technical support from the World Bank’s Service Delivery Indicators Program.

Hanovia collected the required data which was subsequently analyzed by the World Bank. Hanovia also facilitated the dissemination of findings in each State.
