839 Health Facilities, 98% Success: Major Data Validation Study Completed
The University of Bristol conducted a multi-phase randomized controlled trial across five Nigerian states to address these gaps. Following completion of Sequences A-D (October 2023-June 2025), administrative data harvesting (Sequence E) was conducted July-August 2025 at 839 health facilities most mentioned by study participants. This achieved 98% success in validating self-reported contraceptive behaviors with objective facility records while maintaining strict confidentiality protocols.
Hanovia Limited developed data collection protocols alongside the research team and carried out facility engagement, data harvesting, quality assurance and reporting.
Findings will validate self-reported contraceptive use data and provide evidence on service utilization patterns to inform future family planning programs.
